A mirror sends light back at the same angle it arrived. Both angles are measured from the normal — the line at 90° to the mirror.

A beam hits a flat mirror at 30° from the normal. At what angle does it leave?

Answer: 30° from the normal. Angle in equals angle out, so it leaves at 30° on the other side of the normal.
